HB516 that would prohibit Montana localities from enacting anti-discrimination ordinances beyond what the Montana Human Rights Act (Title 49) provides for is scheduled for hearing before the Montana House Judiciary Committee at 8 a.m., Friday, February 18th, 2011. This bill was in response to the City of Missoula passing ordinance barring discrimination against gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgendered citizens.
HB205 "BIRTHER BILL" (REP. WAGNER-R) DIES
The Montana House State Administration Committee of the Montana Legislature killed the Montana Republican birther bill, that would have required any candidate for federal office to "prove" they are a US citizen. This bill was sponsored by the birther movement that questioned President Barack Obama's citizenship.
