Human Rights

The human rights as stated, in the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, will be sought and affirmed by the AHRN as guiding principles in the work we advance.  Further, we will seek to apply, interpret, and give a voice to the traditional understanding of and to the best ability--adhere to the norms of the traditional precepts that gave rise to the federal canon in the U.S. "treaties are to be interpreted and applied as the Indians would have understood them at the time of signing."  It is time the traditional cultures of tribal people are advanced in modern jurisprudence, of all nations in the Western Hemisphere.
